Today i learned something that i wish i’d realize sooner. I realized I had already realized this realization, but i took it for granted. Why do one always forgets what they have realized only to go back to doing things the way it was done before you ever realized it? But today is the day that i promise myself i’d remember this enlightenment for the rest of my life. Forgetting this would mean having to start over on the day i would’ve realized again. It took me a great push and some sacrificing of my time that i’d usually spend on watching movies, chatting, all sorts of those. I do miss those times, but my sacrifice was worth it. The result is better and relieving, soothing and almost hard to let go of.
This is the kind of happiness that people might think of as shallow and possibly pathetic but i dont care. Those who are complacent will soon realize that they can be happy about something they achieved.
I haven’t felt this kind of happiness in a long time.
I was an apathetic slacker in grade 10 then gone average in the start of gr 11, and now i feel like im starting to improve. I thank God for giving me the strength to endure it, my parents for always motivating me, my friends who are always understanding and Ant who gives me the most frustration but assures me that everything will be fine. I also would like to thank the gift of sleeping since it was what rejuvenated me everyday.

Dont get me wrong, no one can ever sustain this kind of euphoria for a year straight. If you do keep this happiness as a constant in life, i guess there are some drawbacks. Take it from me, the one who once enjoyed this, sustained it, only to flunk real bad in the second year. The happiness kept me optimistic and i kept saying, “its just highschool, you only live once.” But is that really the life moto i want to keep living on?
No. This was my first realization and the spark of my determintation to improve myself again. That moto got me through the worse times but eventually i only thought about myself, my happiness and got too self absorbed that I am able to puke thinking about it right now. Well, being the kind of person i am, quiet, shy and all those superficial comments about me, no one was able to see my self absorption and that’s what made me even more disgusted. I know I started being supercilious deep inside although on the outside i may not convey what i think. And this is again where i should be thanking my friends, who are down to earth and hard working. I mirrored myself with them and i know that i need to contain my ego. I thought, this was what i needed to get myself back in the game. To being the usual me before God gave me the chance to feel proud about myself; about my achievements.
